This gallery includes favorite shots from some of the best waves in the world. Most of the photos were taken around Bali, Indonesia, but a few are from other famous waves like Pipeline in Hawaii and Cloud 9 in the Philippines.
Capturing the energy and magic of the world’s best surfers riding the world’s best waves has been one of the most challenging (and rewarding) aspects of my photography career thus far.With the peak moment of the action only lasting a fraction of a second, a surf photographer has to anticipate the shot before it happens—all while swimming in powerful ocean currents and dodging waves that can top out at the size of an office building.
