A word about the work
(REF : CCAB005)
This studio portrait is part of a series produced for Divine which, following Body and Soul, a passion for women’s sport is the second book to be conceived and brought to fruition by Sandrine Retailleau.
The author (Sandrine) and the photographer (Catherine) met twelve exceptional sports women and captured in words and images their personal journey.
Coralie Balmy is a free-style middle distance swimmer (200/400m). She started her career in Laure Manadou’s shadow before ousting her, only to find herself in Camille Muffat’s shadow… Not easy and yet she was European Champion and world-record holder in 2008. “Swimming shaped me’, she says, “my back, shoulders and arms are at the heart of all my most intense physical sensations”.
She is really very pretty. She was a pure pleasure to work with. Despite her shyness she is utterly charming, very cute. She moves in a very feminine way.
Jean-Denis’s choice
For her beautiful posture and that fantastic look. Gentle yet determined. Riveting.
