The last kilometers of the Transgrancanaria are a long descent towards the sea through a wide canyon.
The runner in the center of the image is called Gediminas Grinius. That day, the Lithuanian won his first major international victory.
I took the picture from a point of view along the road. I remember that there was his wife and children next to me.
