Mostar Bridge

A word about the work

This photo was taken in spring 1995. The bridge was destroyed, two years before, by the Croatians. The eastern part of the city was really pounded, some snipers who were in the west part shot Bosnian Muslims living in the east part of the city. The front line with the west is 200 or 300 meters in my back. They are Bosnian teenagers from East Mostar who watch a boy diving into the Neretva River, a ritual that Muslim teenagers practice in front of girls.
