A word about the work

Summer 2017, Geneva, Switzerland.

The photo has been taken in Geneva, Switzerland during the summer of 2017. It is the fourth photo of an interesting series of natural diving boards around the world.

The photo was also shot at Lac Léman. The city of Genève is located on the shore of this beautiful lake. In the middle of this city I found this impressive old diving board. The white shapes of this diving board reminded me of the architecture of “The style”. This in combination with beautiful mountains in the background and the late afternoon sun created the perfect scenery for the photo.

The only element needed for a successful fourth photo was a lot of brave swimmers jumping off this huge diving board. I was lucky, a lot of people were enjoying the sunny day and took a cool dive into the lake. This created various photographic moments with different interesting people enjoying the late summer afternoon. More photographers try to capture this image as you can see in the picture. I very much like the red woman on the right, shooting a picture of the image I was creating. This creates for me a funny second layer in the photo.

By putting all these elements together I try to create an image that attracts the attention of the viewer and invites the viewer to experience the photo anew each time.
