The French Federation of Tennis asks a photographer for taking pictures about the soul and the spirit of this tennis tournament.
Bruno Aveillan was chosen for the edition 2015. This artwork was created during the preparation and proceedings of this event and was exhibited in our Gallery in June 2016. Those photographs are including in a book called Bruno Aveillan Roland Garros published by La Martinière and presented in our Gallery.
This exercice was interesting, i wanted to offer a personal and intimate look. I wanted to show an additional work, a different one of the others. The direction of this tournament allows me to enter in forbidden places and I thank them for that.
I love Roland Garros. I exactly know where I was for finales, Noah in 1983 or Chang in 1989. This event gives rythm to our lives.
I really loved live this event and tell this story in pictures. I always considered that black and white pictures could be a wonderful vector of emotions in a documentary or plastic picture.
