A word about the work
2013/2014.
This wrestler spent a big part of his life in caucasus germany and then came back to Berlin. The photographer met him at that time, in Berlin and was particularly touched by this man. She follows him during many weeks in his everydaylife : family, trainings, competitions and parties. Each part of this wrestler’s life seems to be a fighting : a first one obviously related to this sport and a second one related to his quest for identity.
” I met this wrestler on a beach in Berlin. He was talking a very special language, close to Russian one. His body was completely different from the other german guys that i met. Thanks to my curiosity, a friendship started with this guy. This picture of a wrestling is first of all a picture of sports but a picture of fighting for his origins and values in everydaylife as well.”
